Mark M asked: OK, so here’s what went down. I answered a personal from a 24-year old woman (I’m 20). She liked my response but wanted me to know that she has muscle spasms due to a disease and that I shouldn’t be horrified.
She told me that she had a private apartment attached to an assisted living facility just so that medical care would be nearby (she can’t drive). She had internet, AIM, email, phone, etc. She posted several photos on the web.
So I picked her up right in front of her place. Nothing happened.
Zero connection! So I drove her back to her building, let her out of the car in front of some police (thinking nothing of it). Suddenly these cops are swarming my car. I’m like “what did I do wrong?” They tell me that she’s not allowed to leave the premises because of some mental condition (she never told me). So they keep me waiting (”kidnapping”) and then let me go, telling me that I’ll be arrested if I come back.
I was conned by this girl. Is this ever going to surface?
I’m not sure what they considered it. The officers certainly didn’t charge me with anything! But they did seem rather unhappy, which I could hardly blame them for being.
The odd thing is that the cops never talked to me in the 45+ minutes I sat in my car. I motioned to them behind me that I wanted to talk (I had printed out our AIM conversation setting up the date because I needed the address), but they ignored me. The cop told me to “leave women alone!”… Ah, I got conned by this psychopath!
“Kidnapping” sounds a little unprovable. She placed an ad, called me back, gave me a false story, planned the entire charade, told me where to meet her, walked to my car, got in, was gone for an hour, and I brought her back — in front of the cops. Great “kidnap” plan! I’m not exactly a predator, but they treated me like one — never mind that SHE planned every aspect of her “kidnap” and solicited ME to meet! I relied on HER statements from the start. My only crime was being naive.
I just talked to one of my police friends in another state and he was floored by how this was handled. He was like, this place lets psychopaths have 24/7 internet access, lets them walk out the front door, and then the cop blames me? The cop said that she constantly escaped and posed as someone else, but I should have “known better”. He wondered why the cop held it against me that a completely rational-sounding, convincing, person with a history of this thing was allowed to use the internet, escaped, and conned me into a joyride.
Traffic swarm really does work!
