We have a bank account that is closing, when it does so, how would I make this apparent in our quickbooks system, in order to show the account being closed out?

You should be able to bring the account balance to zero with your final bank reconciliation. After that, go to the chart of accounts, click on the bank account and then in the bottom left corner click on account and make account inactive. It will no longer show unless you click “include inactive”. You cannot delete the account because it is used in transactions.
